Wild at Heart Recap

Amazing weekend at our annual Wild at Heart Men's Retreat in Western Maryland. It has become the one of the most God-moving dates on the calendar for our men. This weekend topped them all, in my mind. This group of men has the potential to rock the world for Jesus. We had a variety of team events, small group times, alone times, and large group times of teaching.

God gave us sunshine and 75 degree weather on Friday. Four Black Bear were seen and many deer. This group bonded on a deep level and shared openly and honestly. We had a earth-shaking time on Friday night. We spent almost 2 hours in spontaneous prayer, and intercession for each other. We made vows to hunt down men who have walked away. We broke into groups of two and walked down into the stream bed, and washed one another's feet. We witnessed one man give his life to Jesus, as we all listened to him pray the prayer of salvation.

We also built the largest fire that I have ever personally seen. In fact, it took 15 men to put this log on the fire. I will add that this fire consumed 5 gallons of diesel fuel too.

We relied on each other in a blind-folded walk through the mountain. Boy was that simply hilarious to watch.

We canoed down the historic Potomac River with a chicken in tow.

We built search and rescue beds, and raced through the woods in a team competition. My Pastoral staff formed a team and they hoisted me through the mountains.
We closed by making a commitment to carry each other when the weakest link is struggling.
We then raced home ready to love our families and light our lights in a bold new way!
