looking back

We made our re-entry into America yesterday. It was great to stand on American soil and meet my family in the airport. I saw them from a distance and worked my way quickly to them. We hugged, embraced and it was awesome to be with them. There is no place like home.

Yet, time away in other countries, on short term missions trips, does something significant to you. It gives one a greater appreciation for all the things that one takes for granted on a daily basis.

Things like clean fresh water, stable Internet connections, quality education, electricity, fabreeze, paved roads, air-condition, clean eating utensils, kohler plumbing, traffic patterns, and number 7 at Wendys.

While those things are important, relationships still remain the number one priority. My relationship with Jesus, my family, and others, tops the list.

My time with Hannah was priceless too, and I will remember our time together the rest of my life. So was the time with our new family in Asia.

However, no matter where you go, People need Jesus. So the mere fact that we have introduced 42 kids to Jesus Christ, have given them hope for the future, grafted them into a new family, given them sustenance for life, rescued them from human trafficking, offered them our lives, puts a deep smile within my soul!

So the satisfaction I feel as I type this blog entry, that was witnessed first hand , when a Church gets it and supports orphans on the other side of the world, is good, really good, over the top good!
