God is up to something. This summer I had the opportunity to speak at Momentum Youth Conference In Ohio. God had laid on my heart to cry out for the orphans of our world. Going in to the service I took time to ask God to do something so big that the only way it could be explained was that he did it. I shared my desire with the Fee Band that was leading the youth in worship. We prayed and Steve shared that he felt like God was going to work through the teens.
I went in desiring that the teens would give $15,000 to feed starving children. Well we got to the end of the message, and there I stood with my faith on the line hoping that God would move. Boy did he ever move in the teen's hearts in fact the teens came unglued they bolted from their seats and gave and gave and gave. Many gave every nickle they possessed. The tally was totaled and $70,000+ came in. It was truly a move of God. In fact two orphanages were built and 100,000 meals were supplied. It is a night I will never forget.
During that night God was up to something in the heavenlies. He was moving in a 3-time Superbowl champion's heart who happened to be there that night. During the end of the service I was introduced to JeRod Cherry a pro football player for the New England Patriots. God was ripping his heart to pieces and JeRod was listening. We talked and he shared that he wanted to sell one of his Superbowl rings and give it to build an orphanage. We both shed a few tears and knew this was a moment that God was moving. Besides what man in his right mind would give up one of his most prized possessions unless he was drunk, drugged or overdosed on Jesus. Well JeRod was the latter.
A lot has happened since that night and today I talked to JeRod and he is doing a network interview in Boston for a man who is going to raffle off his ring and tell the world his story and his desire to rescue orphans in South East Asia through Aisa's Hope. God is up to something! We talked today and he shared that the guy told him that the ring which if sold today at market value could bring up to $50,000 will probably bring between $500,000 - $1,000,000. God is up to something. Oh by the way I emailed my notes, ppt, and manuscript to JeRod so he can use it to tell the world tomorrow about his desire to reach the orphans. He even said maybe God will give me a chance to take this message nationally to the world.
Imagine if you can the number of orphans that are going to be rescued from Human Sex trafficking and a garbage dump. My heart is kind of achy right now wondering how God is going to work tomorrow. Oh by the way please pray Wednesday around 10:00 AM for JeRod, that is when the interview is happening. God is up to something! You never know what can happen when you just preach the Word.
