Wedding Thoughts

I officiated a wedding this weekend outside at the Das Dutchman Essenhaus in Middlebury. The couple chose to have it beside a covered bridge on the premises. Our son Isaiah, snapped this photo of Anne and me, as we waited for the bride and groom to arrive. It was a beautiful day and the wedding was simple and meaningful.

I love the perspective I get at weddings. I get to hear the heartbeat of the groom as he watches his bride come walking towards him. I get to hear the love whispers between the bride and groom. I get to see the tears fall ,as they say their vows, and I get to say this..."by the power invested in me as a minister of the Gospel in the state of Indiana, I now pronounce you husband and wife...what God has joined together let no man ever put asunder."

Every single time I say those words I pray in my heart, "please God keep this marriage intact until death separates them." Please God be with Scott and Iris, who got married this weekend, may their vows be sealed in their hearts and lives until death separates them.

Here is a photo of my bride and younger son, Isaiah, who joined me at the wedding. Weddings also allow me to remember the vows I made to my bride too. Oh, yeah the wedding I performed on Saturday , the bride jumped the gun and kissed her new husband before I pronounced them husband and wife, it was really cool!
