We lost but really Won

We played an awesome game tonight, but came out on the losing side. We got beat 2-1 on a clutch hit by their outfielder. As we wrapped things up in the dugout with the kids, we told them they did an awesome job this year. It is always tough to say farewell to kids that you have invested a whole season in.

I had one last talk with our boys and told them that baseball is really important, but not the most important thing. I shared that we could have won the championship and it would have been fun, but wasn't the most important thing. I explained who Jesus was and why he came. I expressed how we as coaches wanted to know that they had a personal relationship with Jesus. As I prayed 5 of our guys asked Jesus to be the Lord and leader of their lives, and to save their souls.

We lost the game but really won, as 5 young boys surrendered their lives to Jesus. I realize that this is step one on a long journey, but praise the Lord they are now walking with Jesus. I find myself choked up as I recall the eyes of these young boys after we prayed. Please Jesus protect them and may they be movers and shakers for Jesus.
Nothing like a freeze pop to cool you down after a hot baseball night. Great season buddy, your daddy loves you, and loves the way you always jumped in to lead us in the team prayer.
