5:30

I love coaching. I love watching players put everything together and getting rewarded for their hard work. These are young kids, and they are very impressionable at this age. They need encouragement from coaches or they will live and play with fear. Our year-end tourney just started and it is double elimination.

Every game we pray with our players to thank God for giving us the ability to perform. After we did that, I asked my team what time the next game was, when we win today. They yelled 5:30! All through the game at different innings we huddled and yelled 5:30.
In our last at bat we were down 4-3. Isaiah led off and the team began to yell 5:30. He ripped one up the middle for a lead off hit, and the dugout exploded. He advanced to second on a passed ball, and scored on a triple by the next guy. The next batter doubled and scored the winning run. It was a hoot.
Afterwards we shook hands to a bunch of teary-eyed players.
As we huddled up after the game we prayed and thanked God. Then I said guys what's next? And the dugout exploded with 5:30! We can't wait until 5:30 Monday night. Oh by the way, Isaiah was 3 for 3 and got the game ball.
