So how did you spend your 4th? We closed the night off with a Brown Firework Display on Chapman Lake. But we began the day running the Flotilla 3.3 mile road race in Syracuse. One of the family goals we work at, is to stay physically fit. So we found ourselves enjoying a fun time together running the race. Josh was the first Brown to finish the race.
They gave awards to the top 3 places in the age categories. Hannah won the 13-15 female and received a winner's shirt. I placed second in the 45-49 age group and received a runners backpack. We hung out with the Boyts too, and Miranda won the 16-18 age group.
There is great camaraderie in the running community. I also love the competition part of running. One of the guys that I frequently run with is Kirt Hunsberger. He gave me great insight in training for my marathon. We also have logged many miles together. He was out running this race too.
It was a great way to start off the 4th weekend. Can't wait for the next road race!
