Raising My Leadership Number

I am at the Leadership Summit this Thursday and Friday with my son Josh. It is an awesome chance to learn from some of the world's best leaders, in their field of expertise. I crave leadership. I long to be the best leader that God wants me to be. I will do anything to work towards that. I love everything about leading,

I am cherishing this time with Josh too, as we get to raise our leadership number together. As the speed of the leader goes, so goes the speed of the team. There are not many teens at this Summit, but Josh gets a chance to pour into his leadership tank.

I was stirred today with each session's speaker. I found myself writing as quickly as I could. I also love the time Josh and I get to debrief together, and share how we can make a difference in the world for Jesus.

I have often said, If I am successful as a pastor, yet fail as a husband and father, then in my mind, I have failed miserably. My first priority outside of my relationship with Jesus, is to pour into my wife and the future of my kids. I want to give my life away, and pour into my kids. I don't want them to say, why didn't daddy tell me that?

Here are a few quotes from today's sessions!

Make your Sunday services all killer and no filler...

The longer you're down in your trenches, the easier it is to mistake the edge of your rut for the horizon...

People will still give to a white-hot vision during down times...

The pace at which I am doing the work of God, is destroying the work of God in me...
The Kindest form of management is the truth...

The future has already happened...
God doesn't have a plan B, we're it!

Raising my number!

Oh yeah, I picked up 2 more books to read this weekend.

I think you should talk to Harvey Carey, Jim. Try to get him to calm down and be more mellow... like you!
