Deposits

Football is here! Isaiah posed for this photo with his mean face. Imagine this 72 lb, 55 inch, kid hitting you head on. I know you are scared!

Deposits! There are so many good ways to pour deposits into your kids and other kids. One of the ways I enjoy doing this, is to be in their world through coaching. Over the years I have coached football, baseball, and basketball.

I love the trips to practice, the debrief time in the car, the touches during the game, the high-fives after some big play, and the interaction with parents. I love the encouragement you can give them in game situations.

I have built so many relationships with kids over the years by being their coach. A coach can help shape the future of a person in so many positive ways. One of my desires, as a follower of Jesus, is to impact the world for Jesus. And one of the greatest ways for me to do that has been through coaching.

Just last week I saw one of the kids from my baseball team and he yelled across the field, "Hey Coach." My heart was warmed as I heard him say that, and I hoped that somehow God had used me in a positive way to impact his future. My other hope is that they find Jesus Christ, the true source of hope!

Please God, may all of my former and present players surrender their lives to you! Oh yeah, the kid I talked about above, gave his life to Jesus at our last baseball game of the year! Go pour some deposits into the next generation!
