Anxiety
Today I was combing through hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of sheets of paper that were left over from the closing to our service on Sunday.
We talked about the need to cast off anxiety instead of carrying it. It was a really good day for all of us to acknowledge that if we are anxious then we do not trust God enough to take care of our lives.
At the end of the service we placed a cross in the middle of both auditoriums and ask attendees to write down the things that cause them to be anxious and cast it off at the cross. What happened in those closing moments was very powerful as people flooded to the cross.
Today I laid my hands on the pieces of paper and asked God to replace their anxiousness with peace that transcends all understanding. And I prayed that they would not drag that concern back home. Besides who wouldn't want peace over anxiety?
