Sunday's reflections

Most pastors steer away from a message on health. There is a fear that people will not receive it correctly. And it requires them to deal with their own health plan.

But truth be known, it must be addressed if we want to do the works Christ intended for us. And just the fact that we house the Holy Spirit, should be enough motivation in itself.

Yesterday, in our Bucket List series, I gave a message called Get in Shape! I talked about how we cancel out things in our minds so that we can eat other things. Needless to say we had some fun with it.

I trust you are on a good health plan. Just picture what Jesus went through for you and that should be enough.
Oh yeah, my inbox was popping this morning, with some pretty amazing stories of hope, inspiration, and change. And, for those of you who missed it, I even lit up a cigarette, now that got some attention. It's not too late to start today!

Sunday's Reflections

Without a doubt this was one of the most creative and best ideas that Grace has ever come up with. We had a Winter Beach Blast Celebration yesterday.

I preached on the real issues of depression that overwhelm us during this time of year; we planned fun and crazy games for married couples; we worshipped while beach balls were bouncing everywhere; and we just had fun!
Couples danced to Just Dance's Wii Game system...

They competed in a variety of games...

We danced up front during worship...

We competed with musical beach balls...

We passed out colorful leis to everyone.
My inbox has been full with positive comments. I really believe that people needed that yesterday, and walked away refreshed and revived. I also believe I gave people permission to admit that they are struggling with depression. I also believe that Satan was defeated on many levels yesterday, as the dark cloud that hovers during this time of year was brought to light!
Wow what a great way to do life together with Gracies!
