Father's Day in December

I hope I can get through this post! I just received an email from our orphanage director in Thailand. She let me know that they celebrate Father's Day in Thailand too. However our kids are orphans, and their father's are nowhere to be found and most are dead.
But they took time in their worship services, to honor their new earthly fathers. You see, they see me as their Earthly Father, and took time last week to pray for me, and recognize me, even though I am on the other side of the world. In the photo below, you will see empty chairs representing each senior pastor of each sponsoring church. You will also see the American flag there too.
I am humbled to have these kids praying for me. I remember standing before my congregation back in February and saying, "we gotta do something!" And boy did they ever respond to that challenge! They gave enough in one morning to build two orphanages, and fully support them each month!
I am thrilled that we get to rescue 40 kids, and offer them hope in Jesus Christ! I must admit, I am moved deeply to think that these kids were praying for me. Remember "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

I know man it humbles me and once again validates that this is the best investment we have ever made at Grace!

Oh Jim....what can I say? I can only imagine what you are feeling. You are certainly worthy of this honor but how humbling! I truly can't think of a better father for our kids than our Heavenly Father!
