Handling Adversity

What do you notice about this picture? What sticks out?

This photo was snapped at a Fairfield High School game this past Friday Night, after the game. Players gathered to pray. A bunch of these guys are Gracies. They won the game 48-0, and they had much to celebrate.

However, during the night the quarterback, who is a close friend of my son, and attends here at Grace, was injured during the game. His family are deacons here and love the Lord. Justin is a good kid, has been blessed with athletic ability in all sports and is the kid standing on crutches in this photo.

What moves me is that he wanted to be part of this prayer circle even though he was injured. He could have headed for the locker room and been angry. He could have had many reasons to refuse to participate. Yet there he is, head bowed, praying to his God! Way to Go Justin you have moved my heart deeply and honored your GOD!

The news this week was devastating, as he tore his ACL and messed us his MCL . Yet, I know that God has an incredible plan for Justin. Somewhere along the road his parents Ron and Donna have modeled how to handle adversity. I'm praying for you buddy and asking the Great Physician to bring complete healing quickly!
