just put the kids upfront

Last night we Christmas Caroled in nearby neighborhood. Needless to say, I love doing this for many reasons. The ride on the bus to your destination is alive with a festive spirit. Everyone is singing, my wife got to sit on my lap, and the magic of Christmas is in the hearts of Children.

Plus you get to meet people who generally might not open the door at dark to a large group of people they do not know, unless you put the kids up front. So we did just that. Every house we went to, the kids ran ahead of us and rang the doorbell and stood there waiting anxiously for the people to open the door. Then they were the ones that handed the homeowners an invitation to our Christmas Services.

I always marvel at what comes out of the mouths of children especially on these kind of nights. And for the matter, Jesus said the same thing about kids speaking when he said this

Matthew 21:16 When the religious leaders saw the outrageous things he was doing, and heard all the children running and shouting through the Temple, "Hosanna to David's Son!" they were up in arms and took him to task. "Do you hear what these children are saying?" Jesus said, "Yes, I hear them. And haven't you read in God's Word, 'From the mouths of children and babies I'll furnish a place of praise'?"

God uses children to do amazing things such as an open door when caroling, with an individual who might not otherwise do so.

All that to say this, God uses children in profound ways and the same Holy Spirit that lives in a redeemed adult can live in child. We should listen more carefully when they speak!
