what are we so afraid of

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. A team is only as strong as the weakest man. We all know that is true, yet when it comes to relationship and team building we somehow think that this isn't true.

Late Wednesday night I stood in front of a group of men at Grace College who literally are the next world changers and stretched out this chain. In the cool spring night, in front of a bonfire, I shared that we need to support and strengthen every man so that the whole group is stronger. I shared a story in my own life where I failed to do this for two friends of mine. I shared that we must be willing to get in the face of men that we care about and not let them fail. To literally tell them that they must go through us, before we will let them disgrace the name of Jesus.

Real men are willing to say the hard things and even be willing to lose a friendship in order to keep a man from throwing it all away.

We live in a world where the word accountability is tossed around and the need for men to be accountable to another man, yet we don't do it well. Instead we have compatibility groups, where men pacify each other and do not get in the face of their brothers and say "Dude grow up, Dude man up, Dude you dropped the ball..."

All that to say this, we need to strengthen the chain by calling each other out and telling men we love that this will or will not happen on our watch! It's time  the men of God who really love each other  takes a stand that truly causes their brothers to rethink throwing their lives away and disgracing the Name of The Blood Stained Savior!
