Jesus still saves

I firmly believe that we must do all we can do and provide ways for God to work. We must step out in faith and let him be God. Yesterday we tried to do just that in our Christmas Services, as we built our service around the work of Jesus and Philippians 2:1-11. We shared how he came to rescue us and what that means to us.

But we didn't stop there, with the knowledge of the story, but we purposely provided people a chance to respond to the message of Philippians 2. So as we came to the conclusion of the Sermon we asked people if they wanted to trust in Jesus and commit their lives to him.

Well, we built a wall with 150 key ornaments hanging on it. I also firmly believe that a public response creates  accountability to that decision and unusual prayer support. So, people came grabbed a key to hang on their Christmas tree and in its place wrote their own name as a symbol that Jesus is coming to their home.
We prayed and gave Jesus an opportunity to draw people to himself with 150 spots and he came through with 146 decisions. All of these names represent a soul that has been changed forever.

So today we give all the credit to Jesus and thank him for his work yesterday. Don't ever underestimate the power of faith and giving an opportunity for God to blow you away!
